I just learned of the death of a former co-worker, a woman of grace and strength who saw her life, her new marriage and unfortunately her faith ravaged by cancer. I was not with her at the time of her passing, but I do pray that she reconciled her anger over her situation with the love and grace of Christ.
Perhaps knowing of her impending passing (she entered a hospice 2 weeks ago) subconsciously informed my previous and coming writings on death and the Showtime series Dead Like Me. Or perhaps it is just coincidence.
This morning, before I knew of her passing, while I was getting ready for work, I penned a short missive - a psalm or proverb if you like - that is oddly appropriate to all that is occurring:
And the Righteous toil unto death.
But the latter goes on to the rewards of Heaven,
while the former spends Eternity in debt.
